Marrakech to sahara desert tour 5 Days
About eight in the morning You will be picked up by our driver/guide from your Marrakech hotel or riad. Then, we set out on an exotic five-day trip through Morocco’s desert, heading for the high Atlas mountains (2260 Altitude). We’ll take frequent breaks to explore the historic Berber villages and snap photos from various vantage points. We will then travel to the most well-known tourist destination in Morocco, the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, after visiting the Telouet Kasbah. We will drive toward Ouarzazate after seeing the old kasbah, stopping to see the Taourirt kasbah and the Atlas Studio, where a number of films were shot. Spend the night in Ouarzazate.
We’ll cross the Draa Valley today and head to Merzouga, Sahara, where you can explore Morocco’s longest river. We will stop occasionally on our road trip through the Sahara desert to snap photos, explore the genuine kasbahs and Berber villages that line the route, and take in the stunning Draa valley. We’ll pass through some Berber villages, where you’ll have some free time for lunch. After a few hours of driving, we reach the Sahara desert and are given free time to explore the village and sand dunes on foot. Thus, you can take an ATV quad adventure to enjoy the sunset atop the Merzouga dunes (this is not included in the tour price). Check out our list of popular Merzouga desert activities. Our second day tour finishes. Overnight stay in a Riad in Merzouga Village.
We will embark on a Merzouga desert excursion following breakfast on the third day of our five-day trip to Morocco, where we will explore the most fascinating desert landscapes. First, we will go to see the Nomads, who continue to lead a modest life while living in tents and caring for sheep, goats, and camels. We’ll hang out with them for a while and learn about their way of life. After that, we’re heading to Mifiss’s plumb mine. Additionally, we will visit Khamlia, a tiny village approximately 5 kilometers from Merzouga, as part of the 4WD desert tour. You’ll learn about another way of life that the Gnaouas led, one in which they preserved their own customs. We will also go to the 4WD Car Museum, the desert Oases, and the panoramic view of Galb Nass. There will be lunch in a local restaurant.
You will embark on a Merzouga camel trekking experience in the afternoon, traversing the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi to arrive at Sahara camp. When you get there, you can go sandboarding and take in the sunset. Stay the night in a desert camp with Nomads; they’ll cook you dinner and serenade you with drumming by the campfire. Before turning in for the night, take pleasure in stargazing. Spend the night in a personal tent in the desert.
The next day of our five-day trip itinerary through Morocco. You’ll rise early to witness a magnificent dawn over Merzouga erg Chebbi. Following breakfast and a shower in the desert camp, we transport you back to Merzouga Village (you can choose to return by 4WD or by camel ride). After that, we’ll take a car to Rissani, where we’ll explore a fossil museum and take a stroll through the old-world market. After that, our tour of Morocco continues through a number of Arabic and Berber villages, including Mellab, Tinjdad, Jourf, and the last one known for its ancient irrigation system’s wells. There will be a stop so we can check out this attraction. Mellab or Tinjdad will be the lunch location (Optional).
The Todra Valley and its roughly 300-meter-tall canyons will be the site of the next attraction. Water could also find a way through the rocks on its own. Hiking and rock climbing are popular in this Gorge. Eventually, we’ll travel to Dades Gorge, where we’ll stay in a riad for the final night of our journey.
The final day of our five-day tour itinerary departing from Marrakech will begin with breakfast while taking in the stunning views of Dades Valley. then proceed through the Roses Valley and Skoura Oasis palm groves on our way to Marrakech. We will travel a little further through the “Tichka pass” in the High Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech, the end of our five-day Moroccan desert tour.
